Meet our Staff
In 2000, NLPA was acquired by Robinson & Associates
Thomas Gaugh, Senior Research Attorney I joined the NLPA team in March, 2003. I believe in NLPA because this company helps protect the American way of life. According to the framers of the Constitution, all individuals were to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, and were presumed to have certain rights, regardless of the crime that they have been accused of committing. Through NLPA, the rights of criminal defendants are protected and preserved, thus guaranteeing the underlying foundations of the Constitution and the American judicial system. Margaret Robinson Director of Family Relations Margaret is the wife of NLPA’s founder, H. Wesley Robinson. She has been involved in the fight to help protect inmates’ rights for more than twenty years. Although not an attorney, she likes to work with the wives, mothers and other family members who are experiencing the trauma of having a loved one incarcerated.
Darren Mullaney Senior Research Attorney Joined the NLPA team in 2006, Mr. Mullaney has a strong focus on pretrial cases as well as civil litigation.
Ronan Ragiel Senior Research Attorney
Wes Robinson Director of Client Services Wes has been the Director of Client Services for NLPA since its founding in 1986. He has been committed to protecting the rights of defendants for the past two decades. Although he is not a practicing attorney he graduated from University Law School in 1973 earning a juris doctor degree. For more information about his unique background in the criminal justice system, see Our History.
Stephanie Shortt Senior Case Manager "I have been with NLPA since May of 2002. I enjoy working for NLPA because it makes me feel more defined as a person. I believe that everyone is innocent until proven guilty but, that sometimes the "proven" part can be questionable. When clients contact us who have been wrongly convicted or enhanced in their case, I feel it gives us a sense of obligation not only to those clients but, to the system in general to take a stand for those who are unable to do so themselves. I enjoy working for a company with a winning track record and being a part of that continued success as each day passes." Pam Grimm Senior Case Manager & Research Administration "I began with NLPA in 1998 as a paralegal. I assist primarily in the final stages of NLPA's research product to ensure that all of the research and pleadings are sent timely and are of high quality that meets any local rules where they may be filed. I also assist in the preparation of administrative matters."
Susan Troutt Senior Case Manager "I began with NLPA in 1998 on a part-time basis. I then became a full-time case manager with NLPA in 2001. My previous work experience includes paralegal duties with well-known firms dating back to 1992. I attended Miami University with the goal of majoring in paralegal studies. I have also received a certificate of completion for the Secretarial Administrative Services Program from Scarlet Oaks Career Development Campus in 1994."
Mark Konerman Case Manager & Research Coordinator "I have been with NLPA since 2006. I attended Ohio University, graduating in 2004 with a BA in Political Sciences. I received my Paralegal Certificate from Xavier University in 2005. I have worked in various legal settings since 2005, focusing solely on criminal law. What I enjoy most about my job is giving the people that are less fortunate the ways and means to stand up to the mighty government and fight for their rights that the founding fathers of this very country so proudly established."
